I’m going to share something MAGICAL with you all today. Something that still shocks me every time I eat it.
That something is Chocolate Avocado Pudding.
Pudding has been a tricky thing to come up with since I have stopped eating refined sugar and dairy products.
All of the pre-made pudding mixes are full of sugar. Even the ones in the healthy section at the grocery store.
So I had put pudding to the back of my mind and moved on to other desserts.
That was until I came across a recipe for chocolate avocado frosting.
I was trying to find a frosting recipe I could use for my birthday cake that wasn’t full of refined sugar.
It seemed impossible at the time until I stumbled across this amazing idea.
I will admit I was pretty skeptical at first because avocados have a very distinct taste.
I would never have thought avocado and dessert could fit in the same sentence. But wow, oh wow was I wrong.
It tastes just like chocolate pudding!
It tricks my brain every time I eat it.
My eyes see chocolate pudding and my tongue tastes chocolate pudding, but my brain knows it’s avocados.
This chocolate avocado pudding can be used in SO many different recipes too!
One of my personal favorites is to use it in my Brownie Trifles! It’s soo good!

- 2 avocados
- 1/3 cup coconut oil melted
- 1/3 cup + 3 tbs unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup + 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 3/4 cup dairy free milk of choice
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- Halve and pit the avocados.
- Add all ingredients to a food processor and blend until smooth.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate for 1 hour to have chilled pudding.
- Serving Size: 4
